Enhancing the qualification of Ukrainian specialists and promotion of the Ukrainian intellectual property sector: meeting of the IP Office management with INTA.
Deepening of cooperation, development of professional skills and qualifications of Ukrainian specialists and joint activities aimed at the promotion of IP knowledge and culture were discussed during the meeting between the IP Office management and with International Trademark Association (INTA).
The meeting took place in Geneva on the sidelines of the WIPO General Assembly and conducted by such representatives:
- Olena Orliuk, The Director of the IP Office;
- Vladyslav Bilotskyi, The Deputy Director of the IP Office;
- Etienne Sans de Acedo, INTA CEO;
- Jomari Fredericks, President of INTA 2023;
- David Lossignol, President of INTA 2019;
- Ronald Van Tuyl, President of INTA 2016;
- Tat-Tienne Luembe, The Head of INTA's European and Intergovernmental Organizations;
- Heather Steinmeier, Director of Policy at INTA.
Key topics of discussion:
- the improvement of employees' skills and joint projects to consolidate efforts in order to overcome existing challenges;
- the development of innovative infrastructure as a tool for technological rebuilding, improvement of the investment climate, innovative development of the country and business;
- conduction of some joint activities to improve the legal culture in the IP sphere.
"Ukraine is making every effort to help the IP community and the economy despite all the challenges of a full-scale war" emphasized Olena Orliuk, The Director of the IP Office.
"Even though we are facing the problems due to the russian war, we are ready to work on projects together. Cooperation with international partners is more important to us than ever before. Our top priority is quality service that will help Ukraine to be innovative and attractive to national businesses and countries that support us."
Olena Orliuk also underlined the principles of work of the IP Office and the importance of international knowledge for the Ukrainian IP sphere.
"Integrity, professionalism, transparency and zero tolerance to corruption are the main principles of our activity. We strongly believe in implementing these principles through close cooperation with international and national professional organizations. We appreciate and fully support the work of INTA aimed towards forming a united and strong IP community. We understand that IP cannot exist in isolation and that only collective actions are able to confront global challenges. We are making every effort to combat the negative consequences of the war and jointly help the Ukrainian IP community and economy, and we are ready to work on joint projects."
The meeting also outlined plans to improve qualifications of Ukrainian specialists and promote the Ukrainian IP sphere in the world.

We propose to focus our joint attention on helping professionals improve their skills and organizing events aiming to promote IP knowledge and culture. We will also appreciate your help in promoting the Ukrainian IP system, its professionals and problems they face in the world," summarized Olena Orliuk.
