On April 1, 2022, a lesson for children of Ukrpatent employees (students of grades 3-9) was conducted in a remote format by specialists of the Intellectual Property Academy of the State Enterprise “Ukrainian Intellectual Property Institute” (Ukrpatent). The topic of the lesson was intellectual property and its impact on human well-being.
The main speaker at the lesson was Andriy Zozulyuk, an intellectual property professional of the Department of development of the network of Technology and innovation support centers of Ukrpatent. The presentations and interesting cases were prepared by Oleksandra Paduchak, Natalia Guro, and Olha Dmytriv, specialists of the IP Academy. During the lesson, the speaker identified the objects of IP rights and answered who can be the author, and where to apply to protect and register the intellectual property. In turn, the children shared their ideas for future inventions and together with Ukrpatent specialists discussed strategies for further protection of their works.
The lesson received positive feedback from participants. With the help of the proposed electronic form, students were able to express their impressions of the event and test the level of knowledge gained. According to the organizers, mental and moral warm-up is extremely important for the younger generation, which is the most vulnerable today. That is why Ukrpatent continues to plan such events for the general public.
