On March 19, 2015, the State Intellectual Property Service of Ukraine jointly with the State Enterprise “Ukrainian Industrial Property Institute” held a Round Table “Execution of Judgments: Practice and Problematic Issues”.
The representatives of the State Enforcement Service of Ukraine, attorneys, lawyers, patent attorneys and all other interested experts in the sphere of IP have been invited to take part in the event.
Ms. Inna Shatova, the Head of Industrial Property Legal Support Division of SIPS, during her welcome speech noted that the aim of this event is to get acquainted the experts with peculiarities of willful and enforced execution of court decisions as well as to receive comments and proposals on improvement of the mentioned procedures and to discuss the proposed recommendations.
Ms. Iryna Vasylenko, Deputy Director on Legal Support Issues of the Ukrainian Industrial Property Institute, emphasized the role of examining body in the course of execution of judgments and noted that this round table is the first specialized event dedicated to this issue, the experience of which will be used in the future.
Mr. Mykola Pototskiy, Deputy Head of Court Enforcement of Rights Division of the Ukrainian Industrial Property Institute, in his presentation informed the participants about the procedure and the terms of willful execution of judgments, the order of drawing-up the documents to be submitted to SIPS for willful execution of court decisions. The issue on peculiarities of execution of court decisions in cases on recognition of trademarks as well-known in Ukraine was also discussed during the event.
The experts of Court Enforcement of Rights Division also informed the participants about peculiarities of execution of court decisions in an enforcement procedure as well as about pre-term invalidation of international trademarks registrations. The attention was also paid to the activities of the International Bureau of the World Intellectual Property Organization in this sphere.
The SIPS is planning to continue to hold such specialized events in order to receive an efficient callback from applicants and experts in the sphere of intellectual property.
